It was a repeat of the 2021 final as the Oval Invincibles took on Southern Brave at Lord's.
It all got started with a show. Fireworks marked the start of the day as the Oval Invincibles and Southern Brave took to the Lord's field!
Brave batted first and reached 30 runs before losing a wicket. Two brilliant return catches helped the Invincibles slow the flow of runs.
The 2021 champions took those two wickets and piled the pressure on. The batting side found the boundary a few times, but the bowlers were on top. In a truly brilliant spell, the Invincibles took five wickets at the price of just 18 runs. Ismail was once again involved with this beauty.
With their efforts, the Invincibles were set a target of 102 in order to retain their title! Lauren Winfield-Hill opened the batting with Suzie Bates and began with a wonderful boundary.
Brave bounced back immediately, though and had the wicket of Winfield-Hill. Alice Capsey, who has enjoyed a successful competition, came to the crease and continued her form. She hit a quick 25 before being dismissed by Georgia Adams.
Much like the first innings, Brave used their momentum and took more wickets. Lauren Bell produced this beauty to dismiss Mady Villiers. Wow, what a ball!
But that momentum wasn't quite enough and the Oval Invincibles proved too strong. Marizanne Kapp hit an unbeaten 37 to retain their title!
