SUSTAINABILITY
Here at Headingley, we have introduced a number of ways to tackle issues of sustainability, specifically to do with travelling and the damages caused by plastic pollution in the sports industry, including:
- Headingley Stadium provides a free bicycle storage facility on match days
- Headingley Stadium’s catering and retail outlets are cashless
- Water fountains are available around the ground for those wishing to refill their bottles throughout the day
- Headingley Stadium uses recyclable & fully biodegradable cups around the ground. This technology ensures products and materials that escape the recycling system can safely degrade in the open-air environment, leaving no microplastics or plastic pollution behind
